Los Altos History Museum
This museum captures the vibrant history of Los Altos, California, including that of the Ohlone/Costanoan Indians, with exhibits that fuse interpretive text, photography, historical objects, and artifacts. An Ohlone tule canoe floats on water; a train rumbles through old Los Altos; and Joseph Cornell-inspired shadowboxes and touch screens reveal multimedia programs that tell the stories of colorful, local characters. Discovery continues outdoors as guests explore agricultural tools, climb aboard a restored tractor, and—surprise!—hear the engine start.
