Galena Creek Visitor Center

This series of exhibits highlights the natural, cultural, and scenic resources of the Galena Creek watershed and Mount Rose, which are located near Lake Tahoe. Here, where the mountains meet the desert, guests touch pelts, paws, and animal tracks; tinker with a nature piano to create their own audio experience; learn about snow sampling; trace the area’s transformation over the past 150 years; and, yes, even interact with models and guess, “Whose scat is that?”
