 Energy & Technology Center
 Energy & Technology Center

The Sibbett Group created an exhibit program for an imaginative energy and technology center dedicated to discovery-based learning.

The main exhibition area includes three learning areas: the Power Station, E House and Safety City. The centerpiece of the E&TC is the Power Station kinetic sculpture. Here visitors discover where energy comes from, how electricity is made and how it gets to your home. Across from the kinetic sculpture is a life-sized home called E House. This exhibit area explains what energy efficiency means, how an energy efficient house is constructed, and what things visitors can do to lower home energy costs. Next to E House is Safety City. This exhibit area gives visitors an overview of electrical safety, when electricity can be dangerous and how to be safe when you are around it. At the rear of the E&TC, adjacent to the Multi-purpose Room is the Group Entry and Student Orientation Area. Here educators and school groups can learn what the E&TC is about, pick up activity guides or find clues about the weekly energy treasure hunt. After completing a tour of the E&TC, curious visitors can return to the Reception Area to talk to a staff person about what they have seen or pick up reference materials about E&TC-related subjects. Visitors who want to know more about technical issues can visit the second floor mezzanine to see additional lighting, HVAC and Electro technology displays or visit the E&TC Reference Library.
